Call It Dope! was founded in late 2008, and in that short time CID! has endured many changes to become the electrifying group they are today.
Principle founding member, Dizzi Domo (birth name: Demarcus Woodard), an avid music lover and lyricist, decided during the summer of 2008 that he wanted to start a group. However, this could not be just any group. Wary of the decline in quality in current Hip-Hop music, Dizzi wanted to form a group that would revolutionize not just Hip-Hop but all music, as well. He envisioned hard beats with a party element, “dope rhymes,” and a live show like Rap had never seen before. Also, he dreamed of making music that would seamlessly cross many genres and appeal to many audiences without losing content or value.
For this task, he enlisted the help of musician, producer, and long time friend, Joshua Paul Rodgers, III (birth name: Khrys Hatch). JPR3 was already the lead vocalist and guitar player for another successful Hip-Hop band. Because of this, Dizzi knew that JPR3 would possess the skills to help him in his quest.
