Alexis Nicole: Creating Her Own Way

“I want people to see their real life situations in my music and see that artists are real people. In this business, you don’t have to conform. You don’t have to jeopardize your creativity, you can be you.” Artist Alexis Nicole is creating a path of individuality and self acceptance through her voice, her music, and her work as a neo soul singer/songwriter.

With a bold mix of passion, drive, dedication, and relentless work ethic to music, this Richmond, Virginia, native is an undeniable talent with a skill of completely owning any project she undertakes. And for Alexis, she would have it no other way. “I’ve never been a quitter. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do, this is all I have.” Influenced and inspired by artists such as Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Monica, India Arie, and Alicia Keys, Alexis Nicole mixed the soulful sounds of gospel, rhythm and blues, and neo soul to create her own.

Her first independent album entitled, “I’m Here”, was released in 2008, and her sophomore album “Love’s Last Stand” was recently released. Alexis has been Nashville’s 92.1 FM (92Q) for the “Neo Soul Sundays” radio show. When afforded the opportunity of sharing the stage with Kindred the Family Soul, she was told, “You have the talent; just never stop singing.” Alexis Nicole has adhered to this advice and continues to be an innovative artist who will always share her gift with the world.
